Comedy Class

What's Your Booking Score? Workshop - Spring Comedy Camp

This class is an intro for the business of comedy and a look into the booking process. Being funny is the main component BUT if all things on stage are equal how are you helping yourself off-stage? From the little things you can do to the essentials you should have ready, these simple things will help you be prepared for contacting bookers, networking at festivals and branching out of your scene.

Instructor: Jennifer Canfield

As a military brat that lived all across the US, Jennifer has learned to roll with the punches and let it all slide right off her back. Fluent in 2 languages of English and Sarcasm she’s been told she’d be great on stage if only the thought didn’t terrify her to her core. The only feature she has that rivals her wit is the dead eyed stare she is known and famous for around comedy clubs and festivals. Nicknamed Suge White for a reason, don’t let it fool you there is a twinkle just under the surface because fucking with people is what she does for fun. Jennifer believes silence is golden because you can learn so much more from listening than screaming, she is a great listener and hears more than you will ever want her to. Reading between the lines and understanding what is not said is her strength. For the last 15 years Jennifer has owned Laughs Unlimited and transformed into the business owner you see today. You can see her each weekend doing a myriad of jobs around the club and doing what she has to in order to keep this great art form of comedy alive. While at first appearing intimidating she actually has a love for the club, staff and the comics that perform there, but don’t tell them!!
